Background

Dr Fox qualified as a solicitor in 1987 in the insurance litigation department of Barlow Lyde & Gilbert. He began his career in the Aviation team specialising in aviation and product liability litigation. In 1990 Dr Fox joined Cameron Markby Hewitt to further develop his career. Whilst retaining his aviation practice Dr Fox built experience in wider product liability disputes, public liability claims, insurance and reinsurance coverage and professional indemnity. He became a Senior Equity Partner in 1994.

Dr Fox moved to Bristol in 2000 and established the firm of Fox Hartley. Fox Hartley’s client base included Lloyd’s Syndicates, German, French, Japanese and US insurers and insurance brokers and a blue-chip portfolio of Insured clients from international motor and aviation manufacturers to household names in the sports and leisure industries.



In 2016 Dr Fox sold Fox Hartley to DWF LLP and on completion of his 3 year term, he established the new independent law firm of Trevor Fox Solicitors together with his mediation practice, Res Ipsa Mediation on 1 May 2019.

Dr Fox is married with 3 sons and lives near Bath. His interests include classic cars and performing with his Americana/Bluegrass band The Original Barn Finds.
